Every so often I get to work on classic characters too, like Mickey. I usually work on all the classic film characters, while princesses and Tink are my specialty. A Mickey Mouse Club big fig I worked on is now available at the Disney Stores. A few other items like an ornament set, and a snow globe I also designed are currently available too. I love the old MMC. With these items we totally celebrate the awesome animated opening , and the “days of the week” featured on the show. It’s always tricky working on characters like Mickey and the Gang. They have so many looks and styles over the years , so sculptors are always wanting to work in the style they are most familiar with. Part of my job is to make sure they stay “on model” and correct to the time period. Lots and lots of overlays later, I think we ended up with a nice collection of stuff that just feels right. The big fig is limited edition. That reminds me, I better get to the store and pick one up! :)
