Growing up one of the first things I remember collecting with my own money were ceramic figurines at Disneyland. I had A LOT of them. I would get a new one every time I went. Then, when the Disney Store opened by my house, it made it even easier to get my hands on them. Somewhere along the line these figurines became really hard to find. I don’t know if they just fell out of style, but my fond memory of them was part of my inspiration for these two pieces. They are both limited edition collectibles from Disney’s classic film Cinderella, currently available at…the Disney Store! First we have a scale model of Gus and Jaq in the tea cup. Next we have the whole cast of characters from Walt’s favorite scene in the film, the transformation scene. It’s a little bit of nostalgia for collectors old and new! Hopefully people will enjoy the simple charm of these ceramic figures as much as I enjoyed working on them for a whole new generation to enjoy.
